Sports Desk, New Delhi: Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul – Indian cricket team player KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty have initiated a fundraising effort for the Vipla Foundation in collaboration with some notable cricket personalities. This foundation was formerly known as Save the Children India and its goal is to support a special needs school located in Mumbai’s BKC.
The key cricketers involved in this initiative include MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, among many other international players. Through KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty’s charity initiative, these stars aim to raise significant funds for the education and welfare of children with special needs. Rahul and Athiya Shetty have organized a special cricket auction, where prominent cricketers will donate their favorite items, such as jerseys. Through this auction, they are attempting to gather financial support for the Vipla Foundation.
The auction is scheduled for August 23. Speaking about this initiative, Athiya Shetty said that the Vipla Foundation has been an important part of her childhood. She spent many days after school teaching and spending time with the children. Through this auction, she hopes to continue her grandmother’s legacy, who started the Vipla Foundation with the intention of meeting the needs of hearing-impaired and intellectually disabled children. Meanwhile, KL Rahul stated that his first visit to the school was very emotional, and the children inspired him to contribute in every possible way to this great cause, which is part of Athiya’s family’s legacy. When he reached out to the cricket fraternity, they equally supported the cause by donating their valuable cricket items.
