Jharkhand Political News: The successful organization of the Tribal Festival held on August 9-10 in the capital has allowed Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) working president Hemant Soren to convey multiple messages simultaneously.
In a way, he hit several targets with one arrow. During his tenure, Hemant Soren not only institutionalized this significant event but also gave it a national character. Previously, the event did not have an institutional format.
Mention of Former Chhattisgarh CM
Various tribal organizations used to register their symbolic presence in the capital. Hemant Soren initiated this during his tenure. Last year, the process of expanding the event began, with the presence of then Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
The recent event was grand in the sense that, along with various states, a large number of people from distant northeastern states also participated. Hemant Soren himself was actively involved in welcoming them. Notably, the festival atmosphere was not just at the event venue but also throughout the capital. CM Hemant Speaks on Assembly Elections
People from the tribal community danced in traditional attire, creating a scene that was not seen before. By gathering a large crowd from the tribal community, Hemant Soren conveyed that he has emerged as the most popular leader among tribals across the country, not just in Jharkhand.
With the upcoming assembly elections, this is significant as it is expected to have a broad impact on the results. It’s also noteworthy that in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the coalition led by Hemant Soren won all five tribal reserved seats in the state.
Emotional Appeal to Supporters
During the Tribal Festival, on August 10, Hemant Soren’s emotional message on his birthday became a topic of discussion. He shared a picture related to his prison journey after the ED’s actions, showing the prison stamp on his hand at the time of his release.
Along with this, he made an emotional appeal to his core supporters, stating that he will not stop fighting for the rights of tribals, Dalits, backward classes, and minorities.
Hemant Soren successfully conveyed his message without directly accusing anyone politically, largely due to the sympathy generated among his supporters following the ED’s actions.
His political opponents are now suggesting that while this might have had an impact in the Lok Sabha elections, it may not be as effective in the assembly elections. However, JMM strategists are not going to let go of this issue easily and will keep it at the center of discussions.
