State Bureau, Ranchi: The Jharkhand Police have fully implemented the “Dial 112” service across the state under the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).
This is a service where you can register complaints and seek help in various emergency situations, including police assistance, fire services, women’s helpline, medical emergencies, or any other urgent situations. The “Dial-112” app can also be downloaded on mobile devices, allowing users to file complaints with the police.
Call the Police to the Scene in an Emergency
As part of this initiative, the Jharkhand Police have prepared a QR code related to Dial-112. In any emergency situation, this QR code can be scanned to call the police to the scene.
Easier Complaint Filing for Women
Under the direction of the Director General of Police (DGP), Ranchi Police will place the Dial-112 QR code on all autos, e-rickshaws, and city buses to help prevent crimes related to women’s safety or ATMs. Women can easily scan this code to register complaints about harassment or other issues through Dial-112. This QR code will also be posted inside and outside ATMs, allowing immediate reporting of ATM fraud or cybercrime.
The QR code will also be placed in women’s colleges, coaching centers, schools, markets, haats (local markets), malls, societies, and similar locations.
How the QR Code Works
When you scan the Dial-112 QR code, a URL link to jh.erss.in appears. Clicking on this link brings up a “Request Help” button. Pressing this button will bring up a form.
The complainant needs to provide some information in this form, which can be filled out quickly. After filling it out, a message will appear saying, “Service Request Submitted Successfully.”
As soon as this message appears, your complaint will be registered with Dial-112. Once the complaint is registered, the police will act on it and provide assistance. The complainant will also receive a call from Dial-112.
The caller will gather information about the complaint, and if it is an emergency, assistance will be provided through the nearest PCR (Police Control Room) or a patrolling vehicle assigned to the area.
