This is the first time in Pakistan’s Test history that they have lost a Test series against Bangladesh. In this series, Pakistan also faced a record defeat in Tests for the first time, marking a significant setback for Pakistan cricket. Pakistan struggled with poor fielding and mediocre batting. Until now, only major teams have defeated Pakistan on their home ground, but today, even a team like Bangladesh has achieved this feat. Despite being a smaller team that doesn’t focus much on this format of cricket, Bangladesh dominated the Test series against Pakistan and won it 2-0.
Bangladesh won the toss in the second Test and chose to bowl first. The first day of the Test match was canceled due to rain. On the second day, Pakistan was bowled out for 274 runs in their first innings, thanks to a brilliant performance by Bangladesh’s bowlers. In reply, Bangladesh was all out for 262 runs, with Liton Das playing an excellent innings of 138 runs and Mehdi Hasan contributing a crucial 78 runs. Pakistan began their second innings with a lead of 12 runs but were all out for just 172 runs. This set Bangladesh a target of 185 runs for victory, which they easily achieved with 6 wickets in hand.

Chasing the target of 185 runs, Bangladesh got off to a strong start. Zakir Hasan (40) and Shadman Islam (24) put on a 58-run partnership for the first wicket. After their dismissals, captain Najmul Hussain Shanto scored 38 runs and Mominul Haque added 34 runs, taking the team closer to victory. After they were dismissed, Mushfiqur Rahim and former captain Shakib Al Hasan sealed Bangladesh’s victory with unbeaten knocks of 22 and 21 runs, respectively. Bangladesh reached the target of 185 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 56 overs.
