Rahul Gandhi Launches Congress Campaign in Jammu and Kashmir:
Assembly elections have been announced in Jammu and Kashmir. In response, all political parties have started their campaigns. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has scheduled two meetings in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow. These meetings will mark the official launch of the Congress campaign for the assembly elections.
Two Meetings of Rahul Gandhi in Jammu and Kashmir
According to Congress leaders, Rahul Gandhi’s first meeting will be held in Ramban and the second meeting in Anantnag district. Both these constituencies will vote in the first phase on September 18. Congress has announced a list of 40 star campaigners, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, for the three-phase Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
Congress State President of Jammu and Kashmir Speaks
Rahul Gandhi will kick off the Congress campaign in Jammu and Kashmir from tomorrow. He will hold meetings in Ramban and Anantnag districts on Wednesday in support of the Congress candidates, informed Jammu and Kashmir State President Tariq Hameed Kara. The Congress has fielded former state president Vikar Rasool Wani from the Banihal assembly constituency in Ramban district and party general secretary and former minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir from the Doru assembly constituency in Anantnag district.
Voting to be Conducted in Three Phases
Ten years after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, assembly elections have been announced. Voting for 90 assembly seats will be held in three phases. The first phase of voting will take place on September 18, the second phase on September 25, and the third phase on October 1.
Alliance Between National Conference and Congress
Importantly, the National Conference and Congress have formed an alliance for this election. As per the agreement, the National Conference will contest 51 seats, while Congress will contest 32 seats. There will be a friendly contest between the two parties on five seats. Additionally, one seat each has been allocated to CPI(M) and the Panthers Party.
