New AI Model 100 Times More Powerful Than GPT-4 Announced

At the KDDI Summit 2024, OpenAI CEO Tadao Nagasaki made some startling revelations. He announced that a model 100 times more powerful than GPT-4, known as GPT-Next, is coming soon. According to reports, GPT-Next will utilize a smaller version of OpenAI’s enigmatic project ‘Strawberry.’ The increased performance of GPT-Next is attributed not to computer resources, but to its advanced architecture.
What is GPT-Next?
During his speech at the KDDI Summit 2024, Nagasaki discussed OpenAI’s developments and future AI models. He revealed that this new model, GPT-Next, is expected to bring significant advancements. By the end of August, ChatGPT had surpassed 200 million users, becoming the fastest software in history to reach such milestones. This rapid adoption highlights the growing importance and accessibility of AI tools.
Nagasaki also mentioned that OpenAI currently employs around 2,000 people worldwide, with half focused on AI development. In addition to its operations in the US and UK, Japan has been chosen as OpenAI’s first base in Asia due to its strong interest in pursuing new technologies and innovations.
In his address, Nagasaki compared the future of the GPT Series to previous versions like GPT-3 and GPT-4. He emphasized that AI technology is advancing rapidly and that OpenAI is committed to supporting the development of a future driven by AI.
