Mamata Banerjee Willing to Resign Amid Kolkata Doctors’ Protest:
R. from Kolkata: The entire country has been shocked by the case of the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kar Government Medical College and Hospital. This incident has sparked outrage nationwide, as well as a political storm in West Bengal. Meanwhile, the hospital’s doctors, along with the victim’s family, have organized a major protest, accusing the West Bengal government of not cooperating properly in the case. Allegations have also surfaced that attempts were made to suppress the case by offering money to the victim’s family and others.
During this time, no one met Mamata Banerjee, who visited the protesting doctors. Banerjee waited for almost two hours for the victim’s family, relatives, and protesters, but there was no one in front of her except empty chairs. After waiting for a long time, she left. The Mamata Banerjee government had called for a meeting with the protesting doctors for the third time. The Chief Minister had organized the meeting in Nabanna’s auditorium, but the doctors’ delegation did not attend. The protesters demanded that the discussion be broadcast live. However, Mamata Banerjee did not accept this demand, leading them to boycott the meeting. As she left the hall, Mamata Banerjee stated, “I am ready to leave my seat for justice.”
Mamata Banerjee Apologizes and Expresses Willingness to Resign:
Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee has apologized to the people of the state, releasing a video on social media in which she expressed her regret and stated, “I am ready to resign for the sake of the people.” On the other side, the protesters have said, “This agitation will continue until the government meets their demands.”
