Chaibasa: On Saturday, Kalpana Soren paid tribute to Shaheed Gangaram Kalundia in Tantnagar, West Singhbhum, and launched the Maiya Samman Yatra. Following this, she addressed programs in Manjhari, Kumardungi, and Majhgaon blocks.
While addressing the gathering, Kalpana Soren said that this land belongs to our revolutionaries, who, since the time of the British, have fought to protect their water, forest, land, trees, mountains, and hills, continuously standing up against their enemies.
She said that this is the land of heroes, Kolhan. Our martyrs inspire us that Kolhan never bows down, never compromises, and is never afraid of anyone. With this lesson and inspiration, we continue to move forward.
She also mentioned that to understand the ideology of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), one must know about every martyr soldier of Jharkhand. JMM is empowering the poor and marginalized people. Your courage, your belief, and your self-confidence guide you.
Mentioned Women’s Empowerment Initiatives:
Kalpana Soren further said that you all are aware of my journey, how I have traveled this path. Today, MP Joba Manjhi stands here, and it is because of your love that she is an MP. You have placed your faith in JMM, and we all are always ready to fight together.
She said that today we talk about women’s empowerment and often use one another as examples. You will be happy to know that our Chief Minister of Jharkhand has linked millions of women with a credit scheme worth ₹11,000 crore, so they can become self-reliant and strong, and move forward by addressing the challenges they face.
Efforts to Include Ho Language in the Eighth Schedule:
Kalpana mentioned that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is constantly striving to have the Ho language of Jharkhand’s Adivasis, especially from Kolhan, included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. He is determined and will not rest until this is accomplished.
Attack on BJP Regarding the Maiya Samman Scheme:
Kalpana attacked the BJP, saying that the Maiya Samman Scheme is aimed at strengthening women, but the BJP is greatly troubled by it. Every effort is being made to stop this scheme, but Hemant Soren is not alone; the entire state, including half of its female population, stands with him. Listen to everyone, but choose what is right.
Accusation of Hemant Soren’s Imprisonment Without Evidence:
Kalpana further alleged that Hemant Soren was imprisoned without any evidence. She claimed that for the past ten years, the BJP government at the center has been withholding ₹1,36,000 crore owed to Jharkhand. Hemant Soren is working to make the state prosperous.
Kalpana also said that the opposition wants Kolhan to compromise, but they don’t realize that the people of Kolhan, who never bowed before the British, will never tolerate outsiders.
Attack by Niral Purty on Shivraj Singh and Himanta Biswa Sarma:
Majhgaon MLA Niral Purty also addressed the gathering. He criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh.
He pointed out that Himanta Biswa Sarma did not grant tribal rights to tea garden workers in his state, yet speaks about tribal rights here.
He questioned how Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who has been appointed as Jharkhand’s in-charge, could speak for tribal rights.
Deepika Pandey’s Attack on Geeta Koda and Champai Soren:
Agriculture Minister Deepika Pandey alleged that two leaders from Kolhan, Geeta Koda and former Chief Minister Champai Soren, betrayed the Mahagathbandhan government, and Kolhan’s people will avenge this in the elections. Jharkhand is continuously moving forward on the path of development, which has unsettled the BJP.
Women and Child Development Minister Baby Devi said that the government is continuously introducing schemes to honor women and provide them with economic prosperity. During the event, MP Joba Manjhi, District Council Chairperson Laxmi Soren, and others were present.
