India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test: Team India Plays Footvolley During Rain Delay
The chances of the 2nd Test match between India and Bangladesh being played in full appear slim due to persistent rain. After only 35 overs on the first day, play was called off, and the second day also saw no action due to continuous showers.
On the second day, both teams arrived at the stadium on time but remained in the dressing rooms due to rain. By 11:30 am, they returned to their hotel. Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik shared a video on his Instagram story showing Team India engaging in a footvolley game back at the hotel. Players like Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, and Dhruv Jurel participated in the game.
Karthik’s video showed assistant coaches Abhishek Nair and Ashwin on one side, with Rishabh Pant leading his team on the other. Despite the rain interruptions, the players enjoyed their time off the field with this recreational activity.
On the first day of the match, Bangladesh managed to score 107/3 in their first innings before rain halted the game. Though the rain subsided briefly the next morning, intermittent light showers prevented the covers from being removed. After an inspection at 2 pm, the umpires, along with the pitch curator, officially announced the cancellation of the day’s play.
