In a significant blow to Hezbollah, it has been reported that the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli attack. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the news, stating that Nasrallah will no longer be able to spread terror. This marks a major escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
What Did the IDF Say? The IDF released a statement saying, “Israeli forces also killed additional Hezbollah commanders, including Nasrallah.” Earlier, the Israeli military claimed it had eliminated several Hezbollah commanders during airstrikes in Lebanon. However, there has been no confirmation of Nasrallah’s death from Hezbollah or Lebanese authorities.
The IDF took to Twitter to announce, “Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world.”
Details from the Ground Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television reported that four buildings were destroyed, resulting in numerous casualties from the airstrike. The explosion devastated several structures, shattered windows, and was felt up to 30 kilometers north of Beirut. According to the Associated Press, the impact of the strike caused significant destruction in the region.
IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated, “The Israel Defense Forces conducted a precision strike on the central headquarters of the Hezbollah terrorist organization. We took this action to protect our citizens, ensuring Israeli families can remain safe in their homes.”
