State Bureau, Ranchi: A meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state election committee was held on Sunday evening. Election in-charges Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and organization in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee were present at the meeting where discussions were held regarding the names of candidates.
The names from the survey and consultations at the divisional level were compared. BJP is expected to announce around 15 candidates this week, most of whom will be for tribal reserved seats.
State President Babulal Marandi will contest from the general Rajdhanwar seat. In the meeting, there was consensus on giving tickets to most of the sitting MLAs. However, for some big names, the decision was left to the central leadership, considering the anti-incumbency factor in their constituencies.
The meeting also discussed local BJP workers’ dissatisfaction with some leaders who have recently joined the party.
Leaders like State President Babulal Marandi, Union Minister Annapurna Devi, former Union Minister Arjun Munda, former MP Sunil Singh, Ravindra Rai, Manoj Singh, Aditya Sahu, Regional Organization General Secretary Nagendra Tripathi, Karmveer Singh, and others attended the election committee meeting.
Vinay Lal appointed BJP President of Gumla District: The Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed Vinay Lal as the President of Gumla District. BJP State General Secretary Aditya Sahu announced this organizational appointment, which was made under the direction of State President Babulal Marandi and will take effect immediately.
