IPL Mega Auction 2025 Day 1: Marquee Players List
All 12 marquee players were sold in the IPL Mega Auction 2025. For some, the RTM (Right to Match) card was used, while others were bought for large amounts by different franchises. IPL 2024-winning captain Shreyas Iyer has joined Punjab Kings, while former Delhi Capitals captain has joined Lucknow Super Giants. Meanwhile, KL Rahul, who was the captain of LSG last season, will now be playing for Delhi Capitals.
Rishabh Pant has become the most expensive player of the season and also the most expensive player in IPL history. The teams spent Rs 180.5 crore on these 12 players. Pant’s transfer marked a record for the highest bid in IPL history. Shreyas Iyer was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore, making him the second-highest-paid player in IPL history. The third-highest bid belongs to Mitchell Starc, who received Rs 24.75 crore from KKR last year. However, this time he will be playing for Delhi Capitals, who bought him for Rs 11.5 crore.
Expensive Players:
In the first set of marquee players, Arshdeep Singh was bought by Punjab Kings using the RTM card for Rs 18 crore. Shreyas Iyer was also bought by Punjab. Gujarat Titans bought Jos Buttler for Rs 15.75 crore. Rishabh Pant joined Lucknow, while Mitchell Starc joined Delhi. Kagiso Rabada was bought by Gujarat for Rs 10.75 crore.
In the second set of marquee players, Mohammad Shami was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 10 crore. Lucknow spent Rs 7.5 crore on David Miller. Yuzvendra Chahal was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore. Mohammad Siraj was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 12.25 crore. Liam Livingstone joined RCB for Rs 8.75 crore. KL Rahul was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 14 crore.
