OnePlus Green Line Worry-Free Solution:
Customers of premium smartphones from OnePlus, Samsung, and Nothing had been facing an issue where a ‘green line’ appeared on their mobile screens. Users were worried because there was no way to predict when this green line would appear, causing anxiety about potential damage to their displays. However, now there’s no need to worry. OnePlus has launched a new initiative to resolve the issue of the persistent green line on AMOLED displays, called the OnePlus Green Line Worry-Free Solution (Lifetime Warranty for Green Line).
This program is backed by advanced display technology, stringent quality control, and a lifetime warranty for all OnePlus smartphones sold in India. OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu stated that OnePlus is the first brand to address this issue with a technical solution. “Demonstrating our confidence in our technology and user-first approach, we are the first to offer a lifetime warranty in India,” said Liu.
To combat environmental challenges like heat and humidity, OnePlus has introduced an Enhanced Edge Bonding Layer using PVX materials. This material prevents moisture and oxygen from entering the display, making it more durable. This significantly reduces the chances of green lines appearing over time. The green line issue is common with AMOLED displays, but OnePlus promises to make this new technology available across all its segments.
OnePlus further revealed that over 180 tests are being conducted, including the “Double 85” test. This test subjects the AMOLED display to 85°C temperatures and 85% humidity to simulate real-world conditions, ensuring reliability and minimizing display issues.
Lifetime Warranty:
For the first time in smartphone history, OnePlus is offering a lifetime warranty against the Green Line issue on all its models, both new and old. “By taking this important step, we are offering a lifetime warranty on our users’ devices,” said CEO Robin Liu.
The OnePlus Green Line Worry-Free Solution is part of Project Starlight, a ₹6,000 crore initiative aimed at accelerating innovation in India over the next three years. The project will introduce features tailored to the Indian market to improve device durability and customer service. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 is scheduled for launch in January 2025. This announcement about the Lifetime Warranty for Green Line comes just ahead of the launch.
