Ranchi: The cold wave continues to intensify in Ranchi and surrounding areas, causing significant inconvenience to the public. With the drop in temperature, people are facing increasing challenges, especially during the evenings when the chill sets in, forcing many to stay indoors. According to a report from the Meteorological Center in Ranchi, the temperature in Kanke has dropped to as low as 5.4°C.
Cold Wave Expected to Intensify
As per the weather department, the cold is expected to become more severe in the coming days. Meteorologist Abhishek Anand stated that the minimum temperature in the state may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius within the next 24 hours. However, no significant changes are expected over the subsequent four days.
Fog Causing Trouble for Drivers
Morning fog or mist is likely to affect Ranchi and other parts of the state. Later in the day, the sky is expected to remain mostly clear. Dense fog early in the morning has been causing significant issues for drivers. This situation is expected to persist until December 17. Recent rainfall and winds from the west have contributed to the increased chill in the air.

Over the past 24 hours, the weather in the state remained dry. The highest recorded maximum temperature was 27.6°C in Chaibasa, while the lowest recorded minimum temperature was 7.5°C in Garhwa. In Ranchi, the maximum temperature was 22.4°C, and the minimum was 9.5°C.
