Rahul Gandhi’s Attack on the Government in Parliament: Criticizes Agniveer Scheme, Farmers’ Issues, and Hathras Incident
The winter session of Parliament is currently underway, and today the Constitution was discussed. During this session, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, strongly criticized the Central Government on various issues. Speaking in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi compared the government’s actions to Dronacharya asking for Eklavya’s thumb, claiming that the government is “cutting off the thumbs” of the youth and farmers of the country. He also raised concerns about the farmers’ movement, the Agniveer Yojana, the paper leaks, and the Hathras incident, stating that Savarkar gave higher importance to Manusmriti than the Constitution.
What Did Rahul Gandhi Say?
“The Constitution is our idea, but the RSS has always controlled the memory of it. Today, the government is cutting off the thumbs of those who work honestly in the country. The government is hurting the poor of the country. The youth wake up at 4 AM every day to prepare for various exams, dreaming of joining the army. But the central government implemented the Agniveer scheme, cutting off the thumbs of those youth. There have been numerous incidents of paper leaks across the country. Even after 70 such incidents, the government still cut off the fingers of the youth,” Rahul Gandhi said, criticizing the government’s actions.
“You stopped farmers outside Delhi and lathicharged them. What are these farmers demanding from the government? MSP. They demand a fair price for their produce. But this government is working to benefit Adani and Ambani, while cutting off the thumbs of the farmers. Nowhere in the Constitution is it written that papers should be torn. Nowhere is it written that the Agniveer scheme should be implemented,” he added.
On the Hathras incident, Rahul Gandhi said, “The accused in the Hathras case are roaming free, while the victim’s family is locked inside their house. They weren’t allowed to perform the last rites of the girl. I met the victim’s family in Hathras. However, the Chief Minister there lied about the incident. Now, the accused are threatening the family because Manusmriti, not the Constitution, applies in Uttar Pradesh,” Rahul Gandhi alleged. He further stated, “Savarkar also placed Manusmriti above the Constitution.”
In response to Rahul Gandhi’s criticism, BJP leader Anurag Thakur strongly hit back and criticized Rahul Gandhi.
