Govinda Accidentally Shoots Himself; Wife Sunita Ahuja Reacts
Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda, known for his iconic films like Coolie No. 1 and Raja Babu, remains a beloved star from the 1990s. Apart from his films, he often makes headlines for his personality. Recently, Govinda was accidentally shot in the leg—by himself. At the time of the incident, his wife, Sunita Ahuja, was not at home.
Now, in an interview, Sunita has shared details about what happened that day and her phone conversation with Govinda after the mishap.
Sunita Ahuja Recalls the Shocking Moment
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sunita Ahuja explained that she stays calm in any situation. Recalling the incident, she said:
“My driver called me and said, ‘Saheb has been shot.’ I immediately asked, ‘Who shot him? Or did he shoot himself?’ The driver explained that Govinda was handling a gun, it slipped, and he accidentally shot himself.”
She continued:
“After that, Govinda spoke to me himself. He said, ‘I’ve been shot.’ I asked him, ‘Did you shoot yourself?’ He replied, ‘Are you still making jokes at a time like this?’ I told him to stay calm. I was afraid that he might have a heart attack due to the shock. My daughter Tina was at home, so I called her and instructed her to stay composed and take him to the hospital immediately.”
Sunita emphasized that despite the shocking incident, she never panics in such situations.
Sunita Ahuja on Online Trolls
Sunita Ahuja is often trolled for her outspoken nature. Addressing this, she said:
“Trolls don’t bother me. I won’t change myself or my nature because of people’s reactions. I am who I am. If you like me, you can talk to me. If not, you can leave. I am always in the news because of trolls, but it doesn’t affect me.”
She Was Away When the Incident Happened
Speaking to Hindi Rush, Sunita revealed that she was not in Mumbai at the time of the accident.
“My son Yash was in Bangkok, and I didn’t tell Govinda about it. That day, I had gone to Khatu Shyam to pray. Govinda was supposed to travel to Kolkata for Durga Puja. When my driver called, I was meditating. Normally, I don’t pick up calls during meditation, but that day, I did—and that’s when I heard about the incident.”
Govinda to Make a Comeback?
Meanwhile, Govinda recently appeared on The Indian Kapil Sharma Show, where he revealed that he will soon return to films. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see in which project he will make his big-screen comeback.
