Batting first, all the Indian batsmen added runs to take India’s total to 196. Hardik Pandya made the biggest contribution to India’s runs. Hardik scored a blistering half-century to take India to a huge score. While Rohit Sharma 23, Virat Kohli 37, Rishabh Pant 36 and Shivam Dubey contributed 34 runs. All Indian batsmen including Rohit Sharma batted aggressively. Speaking about this, Rohit said, “I have been talking about playing aggressively with the bat for a long time. All things considered, we adjusted and played really well. There’s a bit of wind here, overall we’re playing very smart. Overall we did well with bat and ball.”
Also, on Team India’s batting order, Rohit Sharma said, “All eight batsmen have to play their role well, no matter what. We saw that one player scored 50 runs and we scored 196 runs. In my opinion though in T20 you don’t need to score half-centuries and centuries, it’s about how much pressure you put on the bowlers. All the batsmen have been playing like this since the beginning and we want to continue playing like this. There are a lot of experienced players in the team and the team supports them.”
Talking about Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma said, “Even in the last match, I said that his good batting has put the team in a good position. After top 5,6 batsmen need to give a good finish to the match, Hardik is Hardik, we know what he is capable of. He is a very important player for the team, he will continue to perform like this and help the team achieve a good total.”
