When will Team India arrive in India: Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, the Indian cricket team won the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy with a brilliant performance. Along with this, India’s drought of winning the T20 World Cup for the last 17 years has also ended. After this, the Indian team was supposed to leave for home, but due to Cyclone Beryl in Barbados, the team is stuck in a hotel. All flights have been cancelled. BCCI secretary Jai Shah had issued a statement in which he said that we will have to wait for his return. Meanwhile, now there is a good news. Team India may soon board a plane to return home.
The Indian team can reach home on Tuesday evening local time. Briefing about the situation there, the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, said that it is hoped that the airport here, which was closed due to Cyclone Beryl, will be back to normal in the next six to 12 hours. The Rohit Sharma-led team, support staff, some BCCI officials and players’ families have been stuck in hotels for the past two days due to Cyclone Beryl.
When will Team India return –
The Prime Minister of Barbados said, ‘We hope that the air service will be restored soon. We don’t have anything else to say, but we are in touch with the airport staff and they are doing their final checks now. We will get everything back to normal soon. There are many people who wanted to leave late last night or today or tomorrow morning. Efforts are underway to restore our flight services. Therefore, it is hoped that the airport will open in the next six to twelve hours.
Team India will arrive by charter flight –
BCCI secretary Jai Shah said in a statement, ‘We are stuck here. The first player and everyone else has to figure out how to get out of here safely. Then we will consider the welcome program after reaching India. The team along with Jai Shah and other officials of the board were supposed to leave for India by charter plane, but it was not possible as the airport here was closed. The BCCI is also trying to get the Indian media, who have come to cover the World Cup, out of the storm-hit area. “We were trying to get a chartered flight for Monday, but it could not be done as the airport was closed,” Shah said.
Cyclone Beryl brought everything to a halt –
After Hurricane Beryl hit Barbados, everything came to a standstill. Winds were gusting to 130 miles per hour late Sunday night. Because of this, everyone suffered. The Category 4 storm was about 570 km east-southeast of Barbados. Due to this, the flights had to be cancelled. However, the Prime Minister of Barbados has expressed hope that the situation will return to normal soon.
