India beat Zimbabwe by 100 runs: The second match of the five-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe was played in Harare. In this match, the Indian team avenged the defeat in the first match. India thrashed Zimbabwe by 100 runs thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s storming century. In this match, the Indian team won the toss and batted first, on the strength of Abhishek-Rituraj’s partnership of 137 runs, losing 2 wickets and building a mountain of 234 runs. However, in reply, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 134 runs in 18.4 overs. At the same time, the series was tied at 1-1.
Abhishek-Rituraj’s excellent partnership of 137 runs –
Abhishek Sharma and Rituraj Gaikwad laid the foundation of the Indian team’s victory with a brilliant partnership of 137 runs. Abhishek scored 100 runs off 47 balls, on the other hand Rituraj Gaikwad scored 77 runs off 47 balls. India scored 234 runs in the first game on the strength of this brilliant innings. The team could not recover from a poor start when hosts Zimbabwe came out chasing the target. Wesley Madhvere tried hard, but was dismissed for 43 off 39 balls.
Chasing a target of 235 runs, the Zimbabwean team suffered a shock when Mukesh Kumar clean bowled Innocent Kaiya for just 4 runs in the first over. Wesley Madhavere and Brian Bennett added 36 runs but Bennett was bowled by Mukesh while trying to play a big shot. At one point Zimbabwe’s score was 40 for one wicket, but the team lost 3 crucial wickets in the next 6 overs.
Continual loss of wickets hits Zimbabwe –
In the second T20 match, Zimbabwe lost several wickets at once. From 40 runs for one wicket, the team’s score became 46 for 4 wickets. Captain Sikandar Raza could also score only 4 runs. It was the second time in a single match against Zimbabwe that the team scored 72 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. But from here Zimbabwe lost 3 wickets in 4 runs.
