In the run-up to the first phase of voting in Jharkhand, the political atmosphere in Saraikela is heating up. The BJP has intensified its political attacks on the JMM. On Monday, during a rally in Saraikela, Union Home Minister Amit Shah raised the issue of the declining tribal population and made a significant announcement.
Amit Shah said, “The tribal population is decreasing, while infiltrators are increasing. If the BJP comes to power, we will completely eliminate infiltration.”
The former BJP national president further stated that they would introduce a law to prevent land from being transferred to an infiltrator even if they marry a tribal woman.
Amit Shah criticized Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM’s star campaigner Hemant Soren, saying that the way Champai Soren (former CM) was insulted and removed from his position was unfair. According to him, this act was not only disrespectful to Champai Soren but also an insult to the entire tribal community.
On the issue of corruption, Amit Shah targeted Congress, mentioning the seizure of a large amount of cash from the residence of a Congress leader, referencing former minister Alamgir Alam, from whose residence ₹30 crore in cash and 27 cash counting machines were found.
He further accused the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance of multiple scams, claiming they committed a ₹1,000 crore MNREGA scam, a ₹300 crore land scam, a ₹1,000 crore mining scam, and a scam involving thousands of crores in liquor.
Regarding exam paper leaks, Amit Shah also stated that if the BJP comes to power, they will take strict action against those responsible for paper leaks, alleging that corruption and paper leaks had taken place under Hemant Soren’s government. He pledged that a BJP government would hold those behind these leaks accountable.
