Former US President Barack Obama remains highly active on social media. As 2024 comes to an end, he shared a post listing his favorite movies of the year. In the post, Obama recommended 10 films that he enjoyed and believes others should watch.
Interestingly, the top film on Obama’s list is an Indian movie, All We Imagine as Light, which has garnered international acclaim. Obama wrote, “These are some films released this year that I suggest people watch,” accompanying his list with this caption.

The Indian film All We Imagine as Light has become a global sensation. It won the Grand Prix at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and the Best International Feature Film Award at the Gotham Film Awards 2024 in New York. It has also been nominated for the Critics’ Choice Awards. The film was the opening feature at the MAMI Festival and has received widespread praise, including from Barack Obama, who urged people to watch it.
Directed by Payal Kapadia, the movie stars Kanu Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles. It was released on November 22 in major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kolkata. The film’s distribution, both domestically and internationally, was managed by Rana Daggubati’s company, Spirit Media.
