Jharkhand News: The BJP Legislative Party meeting was held on Tuesday at the state office. State President Babulal Marandi and former Chief Minister Champai Soren addressed the MLAs. Both leaders stated that although the public did not give them the opportunity to form the government in the elections, they received a mandate to act as a strong opposition. During the meeting, Champai Soren emerged as a prominent leader.
Champai Soren’s Clear Message to MLAs
Former Chief Minister Champai Soren spoke clearly to the MLAs, saying it is time to move past the election results. He urged them to prepare themselves as BJP MLAs and workers will oppose the government’s wrong policies both in the Assembly and on the streets. However, positive initiatives will be supported.
Demand for CBI Inquiry into JSSC and CGL Exams by Babulal Marandi
BJP State President Babulal Marandi accused the state government of irregularities in the JSSC examinations. He pointed out several inconsistencies in the results. A sequential pattern in the passing candidates has raised suspicions of corruption in the CGL examination. Students are alleging that seats in the CGL exam were sold. Marandi demanded that Chief Minister Hemant Soren initiate a CBI inquiry into the entire process of the JSSC and CGL examinations to ensure students’ trust. He assured that BJP would voice its concerns over this conspiracy from the streets to the Assembly.
Champai Soren and His Son Represented by BJP in the Elections
It is noteworthy that in this Assembly election, the BJP had fielded both Champai Soren and his son Babulal Soren. However, Babulal Soren could not win the Ghatsila seat despite significant efforts by Champai Soren. Champai Soren defeated JMM candidate Ganesh Mahali by a margin of 20,447 votes from the Seraikela seat. Ganesh Mahali secured 98,932 votes to come in second place, while Prem Mardi of the Jharkhand Democratic Revolutionary Front received 40,056 votes, finishing third.
Champai Soren’s Past Association with Hemant Soren
At one point, Champai Soren was considered a close ally of Hemant Soren, which is why Hemant Soren had made him the Chief Minister.
