In Ranchi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the BJP’s manifesto (Sankalp Patra) on Sunday, making a significant announcement regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He stated that the UCC would indeed be implemented in Jharkhand, but the identity and heritage of tribal communities would be fully preserved. Shah emphasized that while the UCC would be introduced, tribal communities would be exempted from its scope.
Through the manifesto, he also pledged that all lands encroached upon by infiltrators would be returned to tribal communities. Shah stated that if the BJP forms the government in Jharkhand, they would remove these infiltrators from the state.

He mentioned that they would introduce a law to restore land taken from women. He criticized Hemant Soren, saying he had failed to ensure the safety of Jharkhand’s women. Shah also promised to provide every woman in the state with a monthly stipend of 2,100 rupees if the BJP returns to power.
Gogo Didi Scheme:
Shah highlighted the ‘Gogo Didi Scheme,’ which would provide women with 2,100 rupees per month. He added that free LPG cylinders would be provided on Diwali and Raksha Bandhan, and cylinders would be available at 500 rupees. Additionally, five lakh job opportunities would be created for the youth.
Employment and Paper Leak Issues:
Speaking against paper leak mafias, the Home Minister asserted that if the BJP forms the government, they would take strict action against these mafias. To support the youth in advancing their careers, the BJP promised a monthly stipend of 2,000 rupees for two years as part of their manifesto.
To combat unemployment, the BJP pledged to create 287,000 government jobs and 500,000 self-employment opportunities. The party also introduced the Lakshmi Johar Scheme, offering gas cylinders at 500 rupees, with two free cylinders per year.
The BJP promised a transparent recruitment process for 287,500 government positions. The recruitment process would begin in the first cabinet meeting, with 150,000 posts to be filled by November 2025.
The promise to implement the UCC was part of the BJP’s 2024 general election manifesto. The UCC bill aims to establish uniform rules for personal matters for all citizens in India, covering issues such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and property rights. The UCC would apply equally to all citizens, regardless of religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
