State Bureau, Ranchi: After joining the BJP, former Chief Minister Champai Soren, who has consistently attacked the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), did not even answer a phone call from the party president, Guruji (Shibu Soren). Guruji had great faith in him, and accordingly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren also held him in high regard.
According to JMM General Secretary and spokesperson Vinod Pandey, Champai Soren joined the BJP due to his political ambitions. The same is true for Lobin Hembram. He said that the JMM is aware of the situations being created by the BJP in Jharkhand, and the party is ready to confront them at every level. An individual is never greater than the organization; it is the organization that makes an individual great.
Vinod Pandey mentioned that Champai Soren joined JMM in 1980 and has been a companion in Guruji’s struggles ever since. The party entrusted him with roles in the organization, the Assembly, Parliament, and made him a minister whenever in power. The respect and opportunities that Champai Soren received are unmatched within the family and the party. Hemant Soren handed over a sealed envelope before going to jail.
He stated that during the INDIA meeting, considering the prevailing political circumstances, Hemant Soren gave a sealed envelope and instructed that it be opened after his departure. When the envelope was opened, it revealed that Hemant Soren had described Champai Soren as his guardian and wrote that he should lead the coalition and be made the Chief Minister. Champai Soren became emotional and couldn’t read the entire content. Now, he is claiming to have been insulted in the JMM.
Vinod Pandey also mentioned that Lobin Hembram’s political ambitions are no secret. He too was made a minister from being an MLA, but in return, Lobin kept questioning the leadership inside and outside the Assembly.
