State Bureau, Ranchi: Congress leaders in Jharkhand are angry with Shivraj Singh Chouhan after his comments on Rahul Gandhi. State spokesperson Sonal Shanti said that those whose own reputation is tainted are trying to find flaws in others.
Sonal Shanti further said that Chouhan belongs to a party whose history is filled with blemishes. Those coming from families who fled the freedom struggle are now lecturing Congress on patriotism. The nation has been embarrassed several times by the policies and principles of BJP leaders. The Congress leader also remarked that those who walked on the path of scams involving coffins and shrouds, who put the country’s economic policies aside to benefit industrialists, and who misuse government agencies against opponents have been exposed to the world.
She added that Rahul Gandhi has merely revealed a truth that is globally recognized and cannot be hidden in this digital era.
To finalize candidates for the assembly elections, BJP will hold consultations on Wednesday. Officials from local districts, including those at the Mandal and Panchayat levels, will give their opinions. For the first time, BJP is including Panchayat-level workers in the consultation process.
Leaders from the state are being sent as observers to the districts for this purpose. However, even after the consultations, the state election committee and BJP’s parliamentary board may still independently select the final candidates.
