State Bureau, Ranchi: Maiya Samman Yojana – As the Jharkhand Assembly elections approach, the Maiya Samman Yojana is becoming a hot topic everywhere. While the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is promoting it in every constituency, the Congress has also made a major announcement. The Congress is looking to fully capitalize on this scheme during the assembly elections.
Congress to Organize “Maiya Conference” on September 22
On September 22, a “Maiya Conference” will be organized at the public grounds near the ITI Bus Stand in Bajra. This information was provided by Congress leader Bandhu Tirkey. He said that thousands of women from 15 assembly constituencies will participate in the conference. Women from constituencies such as Latehar, Manika, Lohardaga, Gumla, Bishunpur, Sisai, Simdega, Kolebira, Khunti, Mandar, Ranchi, Kanke, Hatia, Khijri, Kolebira, Torpa, and Koderma will take part.
The event will feature Pradesh Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Coordinator of the All India Congress Committee’s ST, SC, OBC, and Minority Wings, K. Raju, Pradesh Congress President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Legislative Party Leader Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, and former All India Mahila Congress President Netta D’Souza.
What is the Maiya Samman Yojana?
The Maiya Samman Yojana is a welfare scheme for women in Jharkhand. Under this scheme, if there are three women and elderly members in a household, the government will provide ₹60,000 annually. Hemant Soren has also announced that if re-elected, the government will increase the benefit to ₹100,000 per family. Over 4.2 million women have already registered under this scheme.
Where to Submit Applications?
In rural areas, applications can be submitted at Anganwadi centers and panchayat buildings, while in urban areas, they can be submitted at Anganwadi centers or locations designated by the district commissioner. Government employees, Anganwadi workers, or helpers at the application collection centers will receive the application forms and provide a receipt, which will clearly include the recipient’s name, designation, and mobile number.
