Deva Box Office Collection Day 2: Shahid Kapoor’s Film Shows Growth
Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated film ‘Deva’ was released on January 31. Alongside Shahid, actress Pooja Hegde plays the lead role in this movie. While the film has received mixed reactions from the audience, it performed well at the box office on its opening day. ‘Deva’ became the second highest-grossing film of the year on its opening day.
Now, how much did ‘Deva’ earn on the second day? The earnings have been revealed.
Box Office Earnings: Day 1 and Day 2
According to SackNilk, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Deva’ had a box office collection of Rs 5.50 crore on its first day. On Saturday, February 1, the film’s earnings saw an increase. ‘Deva’ earned Rs 6.25 crore on the second day, marking a 16.73 percent increase in its earnings. So far, the total box office collection of ‘Deva’ stands at Rs 11.75 crore.
Official Figures
Recently, production house Zee Studios stated that ‘Deva’ had a net box office collection of Rs 5.98 crore on the first day, and its domestic gross box office collection stood at Rs 6.28 crore. Including overseas GBOC, the total global gross collection for ‘Deva’ on Day 1 was Rs 10.30 crore.
Comparison with Shahid Kapoor’s Past Films
So far, ‘Deva’ has earned more than ‘Jersey’ (Rs 3.1 crore, Rs 4.1 crore) in the first two days. However, it still lags behind some of Shahid’s other superhit films. For example, ‘Teri Baatan Mein Aisa Ulzha Jiya’ earned Rs 6.7 crore on Day 1 and Rs 9.65 crore on Day 2, while ‘Kabir Singh’ grossed Rs 20.21 crore on its opening day and Rs 22.71 crore on Day 2.
In comparison, ‘Deva’ also earned less than ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, which collected Rs 6.76 crore on Day 1 and Rs 7.96 crore on Day 2. Notably, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ was a box office flop.
