Everyone wants beautiful, soft hair; But this requires a lot of hair care. But due to changing environment, dust, soil, pollution, the amount of dandruff in hair increases. Many people face this problem. Then whatever the season, this problem increases. Antidandruff shampoos are used to get rid of this problem, but some people ignore the problem, which makes the problem worse.
On the same subject, Dr. Rashmi Shetty Ranveer Allahabadia shared a video in which he said that dandruff is a fungal disease. If you do not wash your hair regularly, this problem increases. So you should wash your hair regularly. If you wash your hair regularly every day for 21 days, dandruff will not get worse. But if you wash your hair with anti-dandruff shampoo only twice a week, this problem cannot be treated, says Dr. Shetty said.
Dandruff, or seborrheic dermatitis, is a common scalp condition caused by an overgrowth of the yeast Malassezia, causing flaking and an itchy scalp. Regular hair washing reduces the problem of dandruff. It also reduces the amount of oil accumulated on the scalp and dandruff.
A habit of shampooing your hair every day for 21 days may not be effective for everyone. Because it is important to understand that everyone’s skin is different and what works for one person may not work for another, says Dr. Consultant Dermatology, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. Sachin Gupta said.
A temporary solution is to wash or shampoo the hair continuously for 21 days to eliminate the problem of dandruff; But this problem of dandruff can increase with time. The Aesthetic Clinic’s Consultant Dermatologist, Cosmetic Dermatologist and Dermato-Surgeon Dr. Rinki Kapoor said that washing the hair constantly strips away the essential oils from the scalp, leading to dryness and itchiness. Washing hair with chemical based anti-dandruff shampoo for more than 21 days can make hair brittle and rough, says Dr. Kapoor said.
How to deal with dandruff problem?
Dandruff management is tailored to individual needs and the severity of the condition. Dr. Use an antidandruff shampoo on mild hair problems, notes Gupta. Using medications like ketoconazole, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione two to three times a week can be effective. It is recommended to consult a dermatologist if the problem of dandruff is felt in the hair for a long time, says Dr. Gupta said.
A dermatologist can advise you well on this problem, may prescribe you lotions or medicines. But, each person’s scalp and skin structure is different, according to which medicines are given by the doctor, Dr. Gupta said. Eating a balanced diet is essential for maintaining proper hair care, which can prevent scalp related problems, he added.
