Donald Trump on World War III: “I Have a Plan to Stop It”
Since assuming office as President of the United States, Donald Trump has repeatedly spoken about ending ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Europe. Recently, while addressing these global tensions, Trump also shared his thoughts on the possibility of World War III. He stated, “Looking at the current situation, it seems that World War III is not far off. But as the President of the United States, I can prevent it. I have a plan to stop the world war.”
“We Are Not Far from World War III”
Speaking at an event in Miami, Trump emphasized his administration’s efforts to end global conflicts and establish peace. He said, “We are rapidly working toward ending wars worldwide. We do not want more lives to be lost due to war. If we look at the deaths in the Middle East and Ukraine, it becomes clear that we are not far from World War III.”
Taking aim at former US President Joe Biden’s administration, Trump remarked, “If Biden had remained in office for another year, the world would have definitely witnessed World War III. But now that I am President, none of that will happen,” as reported by CNN.
Criticism of Ukraine’s President
During his speech, Trump also addressed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, expressing gratitude to Saudi Arabia for hosting a meeting between American and Russian representatives to discuss ending the conflict. However, he criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media, describing him as a “typical successful comedian.”
Defending his decision not to invite Ukraine to the Saudi Arabia talks, Trump stated, “I like Ukraine, but Zelensky has done a very bad job. His country is in disarray, and millions have died. You can’t stop a war without talking to both sides. We hope for a ceasefire soon and the restoration of stability in Europe and the Middle East.”
“They Are Acting Like Dictators”
Trump went on to accuse Zelensky of holding power in Ukraine without elections, saying, “Zelensky is in power without an election. He is acting like a dictator.” His remarks suggest a shift in US policy under his leadership. Previously, the United States openly supported Ukraine in the war, but with the Trump administration now in charge, the US appears to be taking a more neutral stance toward Russia.
