State Bureau, Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken a jab at Assam’s CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. He shared a news article published in Assam on social media platform X, posting, “Three days ago, I was asked various questions by journalists from Jharkhand and across the country without fear or hesitation. I openly answered them all.”
He further added, “In the last five years, no one was restricted or targeted for questioning me. That’s the real strength of democracy. But in BJP-ruled states, it’s a different story. There, they don’t just forbid questions, they jail people simply for writing things on walls. This is the dictatorship they want to bring to Jharkhand, but I am like a thorn in their throat.”
Pappu Yadav has once again leveled allegations against Himanta, calling him the “pioneer of corruption.”
Purnia MP Pappu Yadav targeted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma again on Tuesday. He stated that Himanta Biswa Sarma is infamous among Assam’s traders and has become like a demon (Ravana) to them. After becoming CM, his family holds shares in 70% of Assam’s tea garden companies. Yadav produced documents showing money from the Saradha chit fund scam being transferred to an account belonging to the Assam CM’s wife, accusing Himanta Biswa Sarma of being the root of corruption, and urged that the investigation should be monitored by the Supreme Court.
He further said, “When Assam’s CM Himanta Biswa Sarma claims that smuggling occurs via the Bengal-Assam route, it raises the question—does he profit from it? Animals, betel nut, coal, and drugs are smuggled from Assam. This smuggling generates approximately ₹100 crores daily, some of which goes to him, but as CM, he has done nothing to stop it.” Yadav criticized the BJP’s anti-corruption stance, accusing Assam’s CM himself of being deeply involved in corruption.
On infiltration, Yadav questioned why the central government has not taken action. “The issue of infiltration is being raised, yet the BJP has governed at the center for 11 years. If infiltration has occurred, the government should have taken steps against it. When the Raghuvar government was in power, this issue did not arise. Hemant Soren is not corrupt; he is fighting for the identity of the tribal people. The central government, under BJP, is using the CBI to protect Assam’s CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, as Saradha scam accused Sudipto Sen mentioned him to the CBI in his statements.”
