IND vs AUS Sydney Test: India’s Probable Playing XI
The final match of the India-Australia Border Gavaskar Trophy will be played in Sydney. This match is crucial for both teams as it will decide the winner of the series. Australia currently leads 2-1, making a win in the Sydney Test essential for India to level the series.
According to a report in The Indian Express, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has decided to rest for the Sydney Test due to concerns about his form. Additionally, head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed in a press conference on Thursday that fast bowler Akashdeep has been ruled out due to injury. Fast bowlers Harshit Rana or Prasidh Krishna may replace him.
There are also reports that wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant may be dropped for the match. If so, Dhruv Jurel could be included in the playing XI. Shubman Gill is also expected to make a return to the team, potentially replacing either Washington Sundar or Ravindra Jadeja.
Australia has already announced changes to their playing XI. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been replaced by 31-year-old Beau Webster, who becomes the third Australian debutant in this series. Nathan McSweeney made his debut in the Perth Test, while Sam Konstas debuted in Melbourne.
