Independence Day 2024: Today, on August 15th, the entire nation is celebrating the joy of independence. On this occasion, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren hoisted the flag at Ranchi’s Morhabadi Ground.
After the flag hoisting, while addressing the parade, the Chief Minister said that in the last four and a half years, our government has taken several historic decisions for the welfare, rights, and entitlements of the people of Jharkhand. CM Hemant mentioned that during this four-and-a-half-year term, we faced many significant challenges. Soon after the elections and the formation of the government, the COVID-19 pandemic gripped the entire world. The impact of the pandemic severely affected both life and livelihood. The Chief Minister further said that some development-opposing elements, driven by vested interests, repeatedly tried to create obstacles on Jharkhand’s path to progress. However, we faced every difficulty and obstacle head-on, which is why the opposition couldn’t succeed in their plans.
35,000 Positions to be Filled by October Making a major announcement, the Chief Minister said that 35,000 positions will be filled by October. The results of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission’s (JPSC) Civil Services Main Examination will be released soon. He also announced that a Chief Minister’s Fellowship Scheme is being launched for academic excellence. Under this scheme, Ph.D. students who have cleared NET, GATE, or JET will be provided a monthly fellowship of ₹22,500 to ₹25,000.
1.26 Crore Beneficiaries Have Received Cards Under the Abua Health Scheme Under the Chief Minister’s Abua Health Security Scheme, cards have been issued to 1.26 crore beneficiaries so far. About 20 lakh beneficiaries have availed of the benefits of the scheme.
The Chief Minister stated that stopping migration from Jharkhand’s rural areas is also a priority for the government.
Kajal Kumari Awarded the Uttam Jeevan Rakshak Medal On this occasion, the Chief Minister awarded Kajal Kumari the Uttam Jeevan Rakshak Medal. Kajal had saved three-year-old Shubham Kumar from drowning in a well. Even though Kajal did not know how to swim, she risked her life to save Shubham.
The Chief Minister also awarded several police officers and personnel with medals on this occasion.
