The Indian Navy on Wednesday successfully test-fired the K-4 nuclear-tipped ballistic missile, further enhancing India’s nuclear deterrence and defense capabilities. The missile was launched from the Navy’s nuclear-powered submarine INS Arighat. It is capable of distinguishing targets up to 3,500 kilometers away.
This test marks a significant milestone in India’s plan to develop a comprehensive nuclear deterrent. In the event of a nuclear attack by an enemy, this missile will provide an effective response. Additionally, it will help protect the country’s borders even beyond its maritime boundaries.
The solid-fueled K-4 missile is a nuclear-powered submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM), designed to provide the Navy with a powerful anti-nuclear weapon. It was launched from INS Arighat, India’s second nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN).
