Ranchi: The election campaign for the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, covering 43 seats, is now in full swing. The election campaign for all these seats will end at 5 PM on November 11. Political parties and candidates now have just three days left for campaigning, during which there will be intense promotion across all these constituencies.
Elections in Two Phases
The Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases. Voting for the first phase will take place on November 13, and for the second phase on November 20. The results will be announced on November 23. The first phase will cover 43 seats, with voting scheduled for November 13. During these three days, several major rallies and programs will be organized, featuring big star campaigners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi’s Rally
On November 10, Prime Minister Modi will conduct a roadshow in Ranchi, starting from the OTC Ground in Pandra to New Market Chowk on Ratu Road. The Prime Minister will also have programs in Bokaro and Gumla on the same day.
Tejashwi Yadav’s Campaign
Similarly, RJD’s star campaigner and Leader of Opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, will hold rallies in Koderma and Garhwa on November 10. He will also have several programs in Chatra and Palamu on the same day. There will be a flurry of election activities by various party leaders, election in-charges, and other key state leaders.
Election Commission’s Final Preparations for the First Phase
The Election Commission is making final preparations to ensure a clean, fair, and peaceful election on the first phase seats. The commission has put in place tight security measures to prevent any disruption. Additionally, the process for postal ballots continues, with 2,60,814 applications already received, which is higher than any previous general election. This suggests an increase in postal ballot voting compared to earlier elections.
Mock Polls on Election Day
According to Dr. Neha Arora, the Additional Chief Electoral Officer, the mock polling process will begin at 5:30 AM on the day of voting. The Election Commission has requested all polling agents to be present at their respective polling stations during the mock polls.
