Jaipur Kidnapping Case:
For the past 14 months, Jaipur police have been working tirelessly to solve a child kidnapping case. Finally, after relentless efforts, the 25-month-old boy was rescued from the clutches of the kidnapper and reunited with his parents. A video of this incident has been going viral on social media since yesterday. The child had been with the kidnapper for 14 months, and during this time, the two developed a bond. Many people found the video emotional, seeing the child’s broken cries and the kidnapper’s tears as they were separated. However, the police have now interrogated the kidnapper, who has made several revelations, taking the case in a different direction.
In June 2023, a complaint was filed at the police station regarding the abduction of an 11-month-old baby. The child’s mother informed the police that the abductor was a relative. The police tracked the kidnapper, Tanuj Chahar, for 14 months and finally managed to apprehend him. Tanuj Chahar had been serving as a senior constable in the Aligarh Reserve Police Force of Uttar Pradesh. However, he claimed that he had lost his job due to his love for the child’s mother.
Claims of Being the Child’s Father:
After the toddler was handed over to his parents, the police began a thorough investigation of the abductor, Tanuj. During questioning, he claimed to be the biological father of the child, stating that this was why he had requested the child’s mother to stay with him. However, she did not agree to his demand. The woman and Tanuj are related, and he had wanted to live with her, but it was not possible. The matter had even reached a Khap Panchayat.
Tanuj has also asked the police to conduct a DNA test on the child and himself to prove his claim of paternity. He stated that he abducted the boy in June 2023 out of desperation after the boy’s mother refused to live with him. The police are continuing to investigate the matter. The reaction of the toddler’s family or their role in the situation has not yet been revealed.
