Jammu & Kashmir News: Terrorist Attacks and Infiltration Attempts Continue
In recent months, there have been continuous incidents of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. On February 3, a terrorist attack took place in Kulgam, resulting in the martyrdom of an ex-soldier. This incident adds to the ongoing encounters between terrorists and the Indian Army in the region.
Five Pakistani Terrorists Killed While Infiltrating
According to reports, five Pakistani terrorists attempted to infiltrate India via the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. However, while crossing the border from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), one of the terrorists accidentally stepped on a landmine planted in Indian territory. The explosion killed all five infiltrators.
This incident took place on Friday in the Batal sector of Poonch district. Reports indicate that the terrorists were also carrying an improvised explosive device (IED). Following the explosion, their comrades at a Pakistani forward post retrieved the bodies. The Indian Army has confirmed the incident and has since launched a search operation in the area.
Recent Landmine Incident in Poonch
Meanwhile, just two weeks ago, an Indian Army soldier was injured in a landmine explosion near the LoC in Poonch district. The soldier was part of a patrolling team in the Krishna Ghati sector, officials reported.
The situation along the LoC remains tense, with heightened security measures in place to prevent further infiltration attempts and terrorist activities.
