Jasprit Bumrah Injury Update: Sydney Test
During the Sydney Test, Jasprit Bumrah unexpectedly walked off the field while the match was in progress and was later seen leaving the stadium in his training kit. At the time, it was speculated that Bumrah had encountered some discomfort on the field. This sight left fans heartbroken, as Bumrah has been India’s most crucial bowler in the series, taking the most wickets—32 in total.
After the lunch break, a video surfaced showing Bumrah getting into a car while wearing his training kit. However, he returned to the stadium later during India’s batting innings. It was revealed that Bumrah had gone off the field with the team doctor for a scan.
Team India bowler Prasidh Krishna provided an update on Bumrah’s condition during a press conference following the second day of the fifth Test against Australia. When asked about Bumrah’s injury, Prasidh Krishna stated:
“Jasprit Bumrah has a back injury. He went for a scan, and the medical team is monitoring him. We will know more once the scan results are available.”
Currently, the Indian team holds a lead of 145 runs, with Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar at the crease. Bumrah is scheduled to bat next, but more importantly, the team needs him as their key bowler in this match. If India fails to put up a significant total, Bumrah’s role in bowling out Australia quickly will be crucial.
As of now, there is no official confirmation on whether Bumrah will bowl in the second innings. Despite his absence, the Indian bowlers have performed admirably, bowling out Australia and gaining a lead of at least 4 runs. Bumrah’s performance throughout the series has been exceptional, with 32 wickets taken across 9 innings.
