Jharkhand Political News: In the sixth assembly of Jharkhand, among the ruling coalition, prominent positions in the front row have been allocated to Chief Minister and ministers like Radhakrishna Kishore, Deepika Pandey Singh, Deepak Biruwa, Hafizul Hassan, and Sanjay Prasad Yadav. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore has been given a seat next to the Chief Minister.
Apart from the ministers, legislators like Rabindranath Mahato, Mathura Mahato, Hemlal Murmu, and Uday Shankar Singh have also been assigned seats in the front row. Other ruling coalition members like Suresh Paswan, Ramchandra Singh, Rameshwar Oraon, and Pradeep Yadav are also seated in the front.
In the opposition, leaders such as Babulal Marandi, Saryu Roy, Champai Soren, Neera Yadav, and CP Singh have been allocated front-row seats. Once the Speaker is elected, Rabindranath Mahato’s seat will be taken by Stephen Marandi. Kalpana Soren has been given a seat in the second row alongside Louis Marandi.
Pro-tem Speaker Details the Speaker Election Process
The Pro-tem Speaker addressed the assembly and explained the procedure for electing the Speaker. He welcomed all newly elected members of the sixth assembly and congratulated them, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the legislature.
The Pro-tem Speaker announced that the Governor has set Tuesday, December 10, as the date for the Speaker’s election under Rule 8, Sub-rule (1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business. He provided details about the nomination process for the Speaker’s post.
- On Monday, before noon, any member can propose another member’s name for the Speaker’s post and must submit it to the Secretary. The proposal must be seconded by a third member.
- No member can propose their own name or submit or second more than one proposal.
- On Tuesday, all valid proposals will be presented in the assembly, in the order in which they were submitted.
- If needed, decisions will be made through voting. Once a proposal is accepted, the Presiding Officer will declare the proposed member as the Speaker without considering further proposals.
The Pro-tem Speaker expressed his respects to the martyrs of Jharkhand and hoped that all members, along with him, would work towards developing the state in line with the dreams of the immortal heroes.
