State Bureau, Ranchi: To foster a healthy and transparent competitive spirit in government schools and provide quality education to students, a monthly scorecard will be issued for government schools in Jharkhand.
The Jharkhand Education Project Council has finalized the draft of this program, which will be implemented in schools under Project Impact. In the first phase, scorecards for all 80 Chief Minister’s Excellence Schools and 325 block-level model schools in the state will be issued in the last week of this month.
Subsequently, this will be implemented in all schools. Under this initiative, similar to students’ report cards, schools will also receive report cards. The schools will be evaluated based on various standards, with a total score of 2000 points.
2000 Points Evaluation Criteria
Each school will need to self-evaluate itself against various standards and score up to 2000 points. Cluster-based nodal officers have been appointed for all schools. These officers will conduct on-the-ground monitoring of the school’s scorecard and evaluation.
The officers will check if the school’s self-assessment is accurate or if there are any errors. After the school’s scorecard and monitoring, a third-party evaluation will be conducted. This process will be repeated every month, and the school’s scorecard will be made public.
Schools Divided into Three Categories
Based on the 2000-point scorecard, government schools will be divided into three categories, and certification will be provided accordingly. Schools will receive Gold, Silver, or Bronze certificates. Schools scoring 1800 or more points will receive a Gold certificate.
After the scorecard is verified, schools that perform well will not only be certified but also encouraged and rewarded. These schools will be prioritized for grant money and other facilities to enhance their performance further.
Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation of government schools will include class assessments, teacher attendance, student reception and attendance, ideal morning assemblies, classroom attendance, assessment of exams, extracurricular activities, school cleanliness, wall writing and painting, green campus initiatives, eco clubs, sports infrastructure, basic infrastructure, and more.
