State Bureau, Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced that the state government would implement a special policy for the artists of Jharkhand. The policy will ensure that artists in the state do not face financial difficulties and can enrich their art and culture.

The Chief Minister was addressing the concluding ceremony of the two-day Jharkhand Tribal Festival 2024 held in the historic Birsa Munda Memorial Park on the occasion of World Tribal Day. He emphasized that the state government would create a better policy and action plan to promote the artists of Jharkhand so that they can showcase their talent and bring glory to the state on national and international stages.
Unique Identity of Jharkhand Worldwide
The Chief Minister noted that the artists of Jharkhand are constantly working to preserve and promote the state’s art and culture, and their efforts will be further strengthened. He highlighted that Jharkhand has a unique identity in the world in the fields of sports, art, and culture. He pointed out that Jharkhand’s players have made significant contributions to Indian hockey, especially the state’s female hockey players, who have achieved a remarkable position in the national women’s hockey team.
Tribal Community Striving to Preserve Culture
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the tribal community is striving to preserve its art, culture, lifestyle, and rich traditions despite facing several challenges. He stated that song and dance are integral parts of Jharkhand’s culture, which continues to thrive. There is excitement among the people, whether they are connected to farming and fields or are socially conscious. Jharkhand, being a tribal-dominated state, has its tribal communities working tirelessly to protect its art and culture. The state’s rich art and culture are closely connected to nature.
Slow but Steady Progress in Tribal Community
He acknowledged that whether it’s the business world, judiciary, medical, engineering, or administrative services like IAS and IPS, only a few from the tribal community have made their mark in these fields. However, he affirmed that the youth from the tribal community are making their presence felt in various areas, showing that they are progressing. Jharkhand is not only known for its rivers, mountains, minerals, and natural resources but also for its rich human resources.
Enjoyment of Cultural Program by CM and Guests
On this occasion, the Chief Minister and all the guests enjoyed the cultural programs and boosted the morale of artists from Jharkhand and other states who had participated. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Minister Hafizul Hasan, MP Mahua Maji, MLAs Kalpana Soren, Anoop Singh, Mangal Kalindi, Amba Prasad, Bhushan Tirkey, Chief Secretary L. Khiyangte, Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel, Welfare Secretary Kripanand Jha, and Tribal Welfare Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha.
