State Bureau, Ranchi. JSSC CGL Exam Update: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar has ordered an investigation into allegations of irregularities made by candidates in the graduate-level competitive examination. In this regard, he has written to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). He has also sent a copy of the memorandum submitted by the candidates, asking for an investigation and necessary action.
The candidates met the Governor at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday and raised several allegations regarding the exam held on September 21-22. The candidates claimed that 16 out of 20 questions in the Mathematics and Reasoning section of the September 22 exam were repeated from the 2018 and 2022 JSSC graduate-level competitive exams.
Several Irregularities Found
The use of identical questions from previous exams in the current one is considered an irregularity. Additionally, 17 questions in the Reasoning section of the September 21 exam were said to be identical to those asked in the August 28, 2016, graduate-level competitive exam conducted by JSSC. In their memorandum, the candidates also reported that a student was allegedly seen writing answers on their phone outside certain exam centers, demanding an investigation into this matter.
A similar complaint was made about a student writing answers outside the Kumar B.Ed College in Dhanbad. Regarding the repetition of questions, the commission has stated that this can happen as questions are randomly selected from six different question papers. However, the commission denied any misconduct in the examination.
JSSC Defends Itself, JMM Calls for No Politics
The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) responded to the Governor’s order for an investigation into the exam, stating that the Staff Selection Commission has addressed the allegations. The commission is reviewing all the evidence, and a forensic investigation will also be conducted. The Governor, being new to the state, is still touring and familiarizing himself with the region.
The JMM emphasized that political interference should not affect sensitive matters, as the public holds the right to respond. The Governor has constitutional powers, which he can exercise, but there should be no political exploitation of this issue.
