Jharkhand High Court Issues Notice to MS Dhoni in Fraud Case
State Bureau, Ranchi – The bench of Justice SK Dwivedi at the Jharkhand High Court has issued a notice to cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a fraud case. The bench was hearing a petition filed by the complainant, Mihir Diwakar, and directed Dhoni to respond to the notice.
It is important to note that Mahendra Singh Dhoni had filed a complaint in the Ranchi Civil Court regarding a fraud of ₹15 crore against Mihir Diwakar. In this case, Mihir Diwakar, his wife Soumya Vishwas, and Arka Sports Management were named as accused.
What is the Case About?
The case revolves around an agreement between Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Mihir Diwakar to open a world-class cricket academy. In 2017, Mihir Diwakar signed an agreement with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but Diwakar allegedly failed to honor the terms of the agreement.
Violation of Agreement Terms
As per the agreement, Arka Sports was supposed to pay a franchise fee and share profits. However, after the agreement, Dhoni alleged that the terms were not followed, which led him to file a complaint in the Ranchi Civil Court. The court, under Judicial Magistrate Rajkumar Pandey, took cognizance of the complaint on March 20.
Court’s Action
The court issued summons to Mihir Diwakar, his wife Soumya Vishwas, and Arka Sports Management, directing them to appear in court. In response, Mihir Diwakar filed a petition in the High Court challenging the order of the Civil Court.
