State Bureau, Ranchi: Jharkhand News
Recruitment for nearly 35,000 posts in Jharkhand, which had been stalled due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for assembly elections, may resume in December. The recruitment processes of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) and Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) were largely halted during this period. Now that the Model Code of Conduct has been lifted, the JPSC is expected to appoint a new chairman, and pending examinations under the JSSC will also be completed.
Recruitment Process to Restart in December
In a cabinet meeting held after the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed officials to expedite the recruitment process. Following these instructions, recruitment activities are likely to resume in December. For the first time, the cabinet has decided that examinations under both JSSC and JPSC will be conducted based on an annual calendar starting January next year. Both commissions have already been instructed to implement this decision.
Results for Assistant Professors Expected Soon
High-level decisions are expected soon regarding the release of results for pending examinations under the JSSC. These include the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination and the recruitment of 26,001 Assistant Professors for primary schools in the state. Many exam results were delayed due to the Model Code of Conduct, but these are also expected to be announced soon.
Results for other exams, such as the Matric-Level Combined Competitive Examination and the Jharkhand Women Supervisor Recruitment Examination, are also anticipated soon. Dates for upcoming exams, including the Intermediate-Level Examination, Paramedical Competitive Examination, Regional Worker Recruitment Examination, and Secretariat Stenographer Competitive Examination, are likely to be announced next month.
Pending Exams in JPSC Due to Lack of Chairman
All pending examinations under the JPSC will be completed after a chairman is appointed. Currently, nearly half a dozen competitive exams remain stalled due to the absence of a chairman.
Students Frustrated Over JPSC Mains Results
Students in Jharkhand have expressed frustration over the delayed results of the JPSC Mains exam. It is unfortunate that in the past five years, JPSC has conducted only one exam and announced its results. The second exam was held, but the results for the Mains are yet to be released. Students are urging the Jharkhand government to conduct JPSC exams regularly every year.
