According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in parts of the western and southern regions of the state, including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and Simdega, on Wednesday. A yellow alert has been issued. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in the capital, Ranchi.
Heavy Rain in Jamshedpur: Many Roads Submerged
It is raining heavily in Jamshedpur city. Due to continuous rain, major roads in Mango, Sakchi, Jugsalai, Burmamines, Bistupur, and other areas have been submerged on Wednesday. Knee-deep water accumulated near Jugsalai Over Bridge and Sakchi MGM Hospital roundabout.
This caused a lot of inconvenience to the people and led to a long queue of vehicles. An ambulance got stuck in the jam at the main gate of MGM. The security personnel somehow managed to get the ambulance out. Long queues of vehicles remained here for 40 minutes around three o’clock. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, 45 mm of rain was recorded in the city on Wednesday. Due to this, the water level of the rivers is continuously rising.

Swarnarekha and Kharkai rivers have reached close to the danger level. In view of this, the district administration is on alert mode. People living in low-lying areas have been alerted. At the same time, the electricity department has also issued an alert. The electricity department has warned that continuous rain in the city increases the need for caution to avoid lightning-related accidents. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 33.1 degrees and the minimum at 24.0 degrees Celsius. On Thursday, light rain is also expected in the city.

Monsoon activity remained active. The highest rainfall of 172.5 mm was recorded in Petarbar, Bokaro. The highest temperature of 35.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Saraikela.

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall in East Singhbhum district is still below normal. The actual rainfall in the district has been 417.3 mm, whereas the normal rainfall is 629.3 mm, indicating a shortfall of 212 mm. Similarly, rainfall in West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan districts has also been below normal.
