However, the sunny weather has raised temperatures again. A weather alert has been issued for the next three days, urging people to remain cautious.
Temperature Drop of 3-5°C Expected
According to the Ranchi Meteorological Center, most districts in Jharkhand (except a few) may experience a temperature drop of 3-5°C in the next three days. People are advised to wear warm clothing and take precautions.
Forecast Till December 9
The forecast suggests light to moderate fog or mist in the mornings and partly cloudy skies later in most districts. The cold wave’s intensity is expected to increase.
Weather in the Last 24 Hours
In the past 24 hours, some areas experienced light rainfall. The highest recorded temperature was 28.4°C in Daltonganj, while the lowest was 9.8°C in Garhwa. In Ranchi, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 23.1°C and 14.6°C, respectively.
People Relying on Bonfires to Beat the Cold
In coal mining regions, the cold has disrupted daily life. Strong winds have added to the chill, making it difficult for people to manage. Bonfires have become a common sight as a means of staying warm. The cold weather is also impacting coal production in CCL (Central Coalfields Limited) projects. School children are particularly affected by the cold.
Tips for Staying Warm:
- Wear Warm Clothes: Use woolen clothing like sweaters, mufflers, and gloves.
- Drink Warm Beverages: Tea, coffee, and soup can help keep your body warm.
- Eat Warm Food: Include hot meals like lentils, rice, and bread in your diet.
- Keep Yourself Warm: Use hot water bottles or take warm baths.
- Avoid Cold Winds: Close windows and doors to maintain warmth indoors.
- Exercise: Physical activity generates body heat.
- Stay in Warm Rooms: Spend time in warm parts of your home.
These measures can help protect against the increasing cold.
