Jio, Airtel, and Vi Voice and SMS Plans: Affordable Options for Non-Data Users
With Wi-Fi often available at home or the office, many of us prefer using Wi-Fi for tasks rather than mobile data, as it tends to be faster and more cost-effective. This is especially true since higher data usage can lead to expensive recharge plans. Recognizing this, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently ordered telecom companies to introduce recharge plans that focus solely on voice and SMS services, catering to users who don’t rely on mobile data. This decision by Jio, Airtel, and Vi will benefit those who primarily use calling and SMS services.
Jio Voice and SMS Plans
Jio has launched two affordable voice plans:
- Rs 458 plan: Offers 84 days of validity, unlimited calling on all networks, and 1,000 free SMS.
- Rs 1,959 plan: Provides 365 days of validity, 3,600 free SMS, and unlimited calling on all networks for the entire year.
Airtel Voice and SMS Plans
Airtel also offers two voice plans:
- Rs 509 plan: Includes 84 days of validity, unlimited calling on all networks, and 900 free SMS.
- Rs 1,999 plan: Comes with 365 days of validity, unlimited calling on all networks, and 3,600 free SMS, ensuring no recharge is needed throughout the year.
Vi Voice and SMS Plan
Following Jio and Airtel, Vi (Vodafone Idea) has introduced a single voice plan priced at Rs 1,460.
- This plan offers 270 days of validity, unlimited free calls on all networks, and 100 free SMS over the 270-day period.
Conclusion
These new voice and SMS plans from Jio, Airtel, and Vi provide a cost-effective solution for users who primarily use calling and SMS services, without the added expense of data.
