State Bureau, Ranchi – Ramdas Soren, who has been appointed as the 12th minister in the Hemant Soren government, hails from the Santhal tribal community. Former Chief Minister Champai Soren also belongs to the Santhal community. With Champai Soren’s shift to the BJP, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was in search of a prominent leader within the tribal community in the Kolhan region.
As a result, Hemant Soren chose Ramdas Soren. Ramdas Soren is known as a dedicated tribal leader with a strong image. He has significant influence over the tribal vote bank. To manage the situation in Kolhan, Ramdas Soren has been brought in.
Ramdas Soren is currently the MLA from Ghatshila, which is in East Singhbhum, a part of the Kolhan division. The Kolhan division has 14 important seats, which will play a crucial role in the upcoming assembly elections. With Champai Soren’s departure, Hemant Soren faced a significant challenge in this region. However, JMM now aims to present Ramdas Soren as the face of the party in Kolhan, seeking to control the damage caused by Champai’s exit.
Champai Soren participated in numerous movements Champai Soren was associated with JMM since the time of the Jharkhand movement. He participated in several movements alongside Shibu Soren, which elevated his stature. However, JMM also played a significant role in this rise. Many leaders in JMM have advanced by championing the cause of “Jal, Jamin, Jungle” (Water, Land, and Forest). With Champai Soren now in the BJP, JMM is attempting damage control by promoting Ramdas Soren. Through Ramdas Soren, JMM aims to convey to the tribal community that only they can honor their leaders. The party’s strategy is that Ramdas Soren will soon achieve a stature similar to that of Champai.
