John Abraham on Pan Masala Advertisements: Bollywood actor John Abraham has criticized actors who promote gutkha and pan masala. Many leading actors have previously endorsed such products, including Akshay Kumar, who faced controversy and later apologized. Now, John has voiced his disapproval of such advertisements.
John Abraham has expressed his discontent with fellow actors in the film industry who endorse pan masala and gutkha. Many actors have faced backlash for promoting these products and have subsequently withdrawn from such advertisements. Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, and Tiger Shroff have promoted pan masala, while Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan have pulled out of such endorsements after facing criticism.
John Abraham is currently in the spotlight for his upcoming film ‘Veda’. In a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, he discussed the issue of pan masala advertisements. He stated that those who promote these products are essentially selling death and clarified that he will never participate in such ads.
John Abraham said, “I am only an ideal person if I live my life honestly and practice what I preach. If I present myself differently to people while behaving contrary to that, people will eventually notice. Those who promote fitness but endorse pan masala are contradictory.”
He continued, “I love all my artist friends and I am not disrespecting any of them. I want to make it clear that I am talking about myself. I will never sell death. The annual turnover of the pan masala industry is 45 thousand crore rupees. This suggests government support for this industry, which is why it is not illegal. But you are selling death. How can you live with that?”
Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar faced criticism for promoting pan masala and gutkha brands. Following the backlash, Akshay Kumar withdrew from the advertisement and apologized to his fans.
