Dandai (Garhwa)/Karaikela (Simdega): Voting for the first phase of Jharkhand’s 43 assembly seats will take place on November 13, and all political parties are intensifying their campaign efforts. On Friday, Kalpana Soren, wife of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and JMM MLA from Gandey, addressed election rallies in several areas, including Dandai and Karaikela. During her speeches, she accused the BJP of using divisive caste-based politics to further its political interests.
“It’s Time for the People to Respond”
Kalpana Soren stated that it is time for the people of Jharkhand to respond, asking whether they want a government that divides or one that unites society. She alleged that the BJP seeks to gain support by creating divisions among Hindus, Muslims, upper castes, and backward classes. However, she claimed, the people of the state have recognized these tactics. She addressed the rallies in Raro village in Dandai block of Bhawanathpur assembly constituency and Karaikela in Simdega.
“More Development in Two Years Than BJP’s 20 Years”
Kalpana asserted that her government has accomplished more in two and a half years than the BJP did in its 20 years of rule. She highlighted several initiatives introduced by their administration, such as the Maiyyan Samman Yojana, Sarvajan Pension Yojana, electricity bill waiver, electricity bill waiver up to two lakh rupees for farmers, and the Phoolo Jhano Scheme.
“We Are Working for Tribals and Minorities”
Kalpana mentioned that their government is working for the welfare of laborers, daughters, mothers, elderly tribals, backward classes, and minorities. She said that the BJP tried to send Hemant Soren to jail without reason, hindering development work. She cautioned the public to remain vigilant against the BJP.
Kalpana Soren Lists JMM’s Achievements
At a rally in Karaikela Sirka Tand, Kalpana outlined the achievements of the JMM government and criticized the BJP. She pointed out that two years of their term were spent managing the COVID-19 crisis, and in the remaining three years, Hemant Soren’s development efforts were visible to the public. Initiatives like the Sarvajan Pension, Maiyyan Samman Yojana, agricultural loan waivers, electricity bill waivers, and the Savitribai Phule Kishori Yojana were aimed at helping people. She claimed that these developmental efforts were not well-received by the BJP, which, according to her, is why they are making baseless accusations.
