Krrish 4 Update: Rakesh Roshan Announces Major Change in Direction for the Upcoming Film
Rakesh Roshan, the legendary Bollywood producer-director known for hit films like Karan Arjun, Koyla, Koi Mil Gaya, and the Krrish series, recently made a significant revelation about his career. In an interview, he shared details about his future projects and shocked fans with an announcement: he will not direct Krrish 4.
Currently, Karan Arjun is back in theaters after nearly three decades, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. In the interview with E-Times, Rakesh Roshan reflected on his journey as a director and shared his decision to step away from the director’s chair for future projects. Despite this, he clarified that Krrish 4 will still be made in the style he envisioned. “Yes, I will not direct Krrish 4, but I will be fully involved in the screenplay. The film will be made the way I would have made it, so fans need not worry,” he explained.
New Director for Krrish 4, But Roshan’s Influence Remains
While fans had expected Rakesh Roshan to direct Krrish 4 due to his iconic role in launching Hrithik Roshan’s career through the Krrish franchise, Rakesh’s decision to pass the baton to a new director comes with his assurance that his influence on the film will remain strong through the screenplay.
Father-Son Dynamic in Filmmaking
Rakesh Roshan also spoke about his unique relationship with son Hrithik Roshan, both as a father and a director. He praised Hrithik’s performances in films like Guzaarish, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Fighter, and War. He noted, “Since Hrithik is my son, I know him very well. If he does something wrong, I can tell him straight up, ‘Duggu (Hrithik), this is not right.’ He can also tell me honestly, ‘Dad, if you put the camera like this, I can act better.’ He can say that, but no other director would have that comfort with him.”
“Creativity Grows When Families Come Together”
Rakesh Roshan emphasized the importance of family in creative projects, stating, “When a creative family comes together for a film, the production is different. A film has five pillars – producer, director, actor, actress, and music. We have four of these pillars.”
